Riviera Maya, Mexico: An Ecological Vision
Riviera Maya, Mexico is without a doubt one of the most beautiful parts of Mexico to vacation in, and one of the best areas to see huge eco-parks full of beautiful cenotes, vegetation and animals. When in Riviera Maya, I discovered three important things for travelers: Best activities Riviera Maya has to offer, best places to eat, and where to stay (all-inclusive and not) and where to stay as a couple, and where to stay as a family.
I spent the majority of my Green/ Back of the House Press Trip in the luxurious, eco-friendly Hacienda Tres Rios. Which coincidentally happens to have a high commitment to the environment, the natural milieu of the property and sustainable tourism. We were fortunate enough to take a ‘back of the house’ tour while in Riviera Maya and see what this beautiful all inclusive resort is doing to set themselves apart in terms of being ‘green’ in MexicTres Rios is a sustainable tourism development that combines a strict care of the environment with the highest quality hotel standards and services. For example, unlike other typical all-inclusive resorts in Mexico, Tres Rios offers their guests a chance to participate in sustainability. The sign left on the bed reads,”In accordance to our ecological vision and care for natural resources, in Hacienda Tres Rios sheets are changed every other day. However, if you prefer this card them everyday, please leave this card on the bed. Both the hotel and the Park have permanent Best Environmental practices programs and would like all their guests to join in their efforts to care for the environment. Hacienda Tres Rios concentrates on Water use, Energy use, and waste management. The hotel also offers a variety of foods, specialty restaurants and activities both for adults and children. They also offer special night entertainment such as Carribean night at the beach, karaoke night, casino night and theater.
